John Dikkenberg ,die zich vanuit Australië met de familiegeschiedenis bezighoudt is de kleinzoon van A.W. van den Dikkenberg - Van Veldhuijzen. Haar genealogische lijn gaat terug tot 1250. Gedurende een groot deel van de familie geschiedenis staan de Van Veldhuijzens genoemd als pachters van De Velthuijs ofwel De SlijpkruikHet laat de voorvaders van mijn grootmoeder zien als pachters van het Velthuijs gedurende een groot aantal eeuwen.

Genealogie AALTJE WILLEMINA VAN VELDHUIJSEN, b 1884 Ede.
(During World War Two Aaltje Willemina hid a Jewish couple, woman's name Judit the Jongh. They operated in Ede under the pseudonyms Will and Jo. After the war Judit planted a tree at the 'Joop Westerweel Woud' in Israel to honour our grandmother.
There is an official document with a citation that reads: “A tree has been planted in Palestine to commemorate the help given to us in the dark years of the German occupation (1940-45) by A.W. Dikkenberg-van Veldhuijsen.' It is followed by the inscription: “She was like a cedar tree in Lebanon.”. A Dutch translation is available.

On one particular six year lease lease with the owner, the Count of Wassenaar, he had to guarantee that the grain crops would be safe from consumption by  schaapen (sheep) or koebeesten (cows). He paid 290 guilders annually for farming 29 hectares.
